Early Years (3 months – 4 years)
The BKA Early Years offers wrap-around care from 7am to 7pm all year round, and is only closed from Christmas to New Years and for National bank holidays. Bridge day closures may exist when a bank holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday.
Parents receive the full Early Years Calendar each year.
Kindergarten and Primary School (4 – 12 years)
At BKA International School we follow the school calendar of the Canton of Basel Stadt. Each school year, children receive approximately 14 weeks of school holidays, which are spread out throughout the year:
- 2 weeks in Autumn
- 2 weeks in Winter (over Christmas and New Year)
- 2 weeks over Fasnacht
- 2 weeks in Spring (typically over Easter)
- 6 weeks in Summer
The school year typically begins mid-August each year.
To provide extended care and peace of mind for our families, the BKA International School offers holiday camps available for 9 to 10 weeks of the school holidays.
In addition to the school holidays, BKA International School is closed over National bank holidays, and for teacher training days. Bridge day closures may exist when a bank holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday.
